OKAIOK ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Mark Tan, based in Alberta, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.
  • Usage data: Course progress, AI tool interactions, and feature usage patterns.
  • Technical data: Browser type, device type, and general geographic region (country/province level only).
  • We do NOT collect: payment card numbers (handled by Stripe directly), government ID, or immigration documents.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the OKAIOK platform and its AI-powered learning tools.
  • To personalize your learning experience and track course progress.
  • To communicate important service updates (not marketing, unless you opt in).
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Google Firebase — Authentication and database (Google Privacy Policy applies).
  • Google Gemini AI — Powers AI content generation; your course content queries are processed by Google.
  • Google Cloud — Hosting infrastructure in Taiwan region (asia-east1).
  • Stripe — Payment processing (Stripe Privacy Policy applies); we never see your full card number.
  • We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.
  • Anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement.

5. Your Rights

  • Under PIPEDA, you have the right to: access your personal information, correct inaccurate data, withdraw consent, and request deletion of your account.

6. Cookies

  • We use essential cookies for session authentication and language preferences, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site traffic and improve the product. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

7. Changes to This Policy

  • We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before any material changes take effect.
